The Utah Women Artists Project website

In 2025, the Utah Women Artists Project, a digital and public-facing website devoted to archiving and advancing women’s contribution to the art of the region now called Utah, will launch. Thanks to a generous grant from the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies and the assistance of the Office of Digital Humanities at Brigham Young University, the research of Heather Belnap, Emily Larsen, and others related to Utah women artists will be available. Features will include a searchable database of artists and artworks, an image gallery, timelines, topical essays, and so much more!

Artistic Frontiers: Women and the Making of the Utah Art Scene, 1880-1950 book

Heather Belnap and Emily Larsen have been conducting research for this book for the last 12+ years, and are currently working on a book proposal. If all goes to plan, it will be with a publisher and out in the world by 2027. Fingers crossed!
